Clenbuterol is included in the group of selective β2-agonists. Clenbuterol is a drug that has a rapid bronchodilator effect. Its action is due to the specific stimulation of β2 – adrenergic receptors of smooth muscles. Upon binding to their activated adenylate cyclase enzyme, which leads to an increase in intracellular cyclic AMP concentration and activation of protein kinase A, and denies the ability to connect myosin with actin, resulting in bronchial relaxation. Clenbuterol stimulates bronchial mucosa cells and enhances the expectoration. The therapeutic dosages prescribed clenbuterol no effect on heart rate and blood pressure.
